Shaping Canada’s AI future

A new national advisory body bringing together leaders from across Canada to ensure youth, education, and workforce readiness are embedded in Canada’s renewed AI strategy.

In December 2025, Digital Moment launched the National AI Council for Canada’s Future Workforce

Formed in response to the federal government’s ongoing AI strategy renewal following Minister Evan Solomon’s AI Strategy Task Force, the Council brings together leaders from across the AI, education, research, and policy sectors to help shape a national approach that prepares young Canadians to thrive in an AI-driven economy.

AI Youth Council

Young people will live with the consequences of today’s AI decisions longer than anyone else, yet they’re rarely part of the conversations shaping those decisions.

The AI Youth Council brings together 12 young people in Canada, ages 16 to 29, to advise on AI governance and education, create youth-led initiatives, and elevate youth perspectives in national conversations on AI’s future.

Advise

Provide recommendations on AI governance, policy, education, and Digital Moment strategy.

Create

Design and launch youth-led initiatives that improve AI literacy, participation, and opportunity

Lead

Act as positive role models who engage peers and elevate youth perspectives in global AI conversations.
