A Note from OUR CEO, Indra Kubicek
It was a great privilege to join Canada's delegation to the United Nations Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha, Qatar last week.
For me, Canada's panel, "Inclusive Policies, National Impact: Tackling Youth Unemployment in the Age of AI" moderated by Deputy Minister Sandra Hassan, was a highlight of the Summit. It was very promising to see this incredibly important discussion take place on a global stage, where experts and leaders showed commitment to not only ensure the next generation is ready for the transformational impact of AI on decent work (SDG #8) but also committed to ensure all our young people are protected, educated, and included in decision-making and advancements in AI (SD4, SDG5, SDG10, SDG17).
This conversation was a motivating one for our team at Digital Moment | Moment numérique, where we are committed to ensuring all Canadian youth have equal access to critical AI literacy skills, and where we embed the UN SDGs as a core component to our youth programmingA big thank you to Emploi et Développement social Canada (EDSC) / Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) for this opportunity.
The Summit was the perfect space to engage in inspiring conversations with global leaders and equally with some of Canada's incredible leaders, my fellow Canadian delegates, who are all doing such amazing work to advance the SDGs back home.Thank you also to Canada's Amabassador to Qatar, Karim Morcos, and his team for the warm welcome
